Duties
Deliver interactive lessons on drone operation, safety protocols, and basic engineering principles for elementary students (lesson plans and materials are provided by Athena).
Supervise students during drone flights and STEM activities to ensure safe and responsible use of equipment.
Support classroom management and promote teamwork, participation, and an inclusive learning environment.
Maintain safety standards related to drone handling and STEM tools, including pre-flight checks and basic equipment care.
Observe student progress and provide simple, constructive feedback to help students improve.
Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth, engaging sessions.
Experience and Qualifications
For Assistant Instructor roles: Part 107 certification is not required.
For Lead Instructor roles: Part 107 certification is required.
Applicants should have experience working with kids, experience with drones, or both.
Prior experience working with elementary-aged students in educational, camp, coaching, or extracurricular settings is strongly preferred.
Drone experience (hobbyist or professional) is a plus, but not required for assistant instructors.
College coursework or experience related to education, engineering, robotics, or STEM is a bonus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and enthusiastically.
Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple activities while prioritizing student safety.
