Job Title: Summer Camp Counselor
Location: NARA Park, Acton, MA
Dates: June 29 – August 28, 2026 (9 weeks; off July 3)
Employment Type: Part-Time / Temporary W-2 Employee

Core shift: 8:15 AM–4:15 PM (includes setup/dismissal)

Possible before-care and aftercare shifts available from 7:30am or until 6:00 PM

Pay: $15–$18/hour

Age requirement: Must be 16+

About the role

Athena Coding is hiring counselors for a licensed municipal summer camp at NARA Park in Acton. Counselors lead groups of campers through outdoor games, arts and crafts, STEM activities, and structured camp routines.

What you’ll do

• Supervise a group of campers and lead daily activities (sports, games, STEM builds, arts)

• Keep campers safe through active supervision, headcounts, and clear transitions

• Help run lunch, snack, restroom transitions, and dismissal

• Support waterfront transitions (Town lifeguards run swim; counselors support supervision and headcounts)

• Communicate professionally with camp leadership about attendance, behavior, and safety issues

• Maintain a clean, organized space and leave facilities in good condition

What we’re looking for

• Reliable, energetic, and good with kids

• Comfortable working outdoors in summer weather

• Strong communication and ability to follow procedures

• Prior experience with kids is a plus (camp, coaching, babysitting, tutoring, teaching assistant)

• Current CPR/First Aid is a plus (we can help arrange training if needed)

Requirements (before starting)

• Ability to pass background checks as required for youth programs

• Attend paid training/orientation before the first week of camp

• Commit to a consistent schedule (we prioritize full-season availability)
